The KL Bird Park was established in 1991 and was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen of Malaysia, Tunku Bainun. It was since managed by DBKL (City Hall) until 1st July 2001 whereby it was taken over by Safari Bird Park & Wonderland Sdn Bhd as the New Management of KL Bird Park.

One of KL Bird Park's most extraordinary feature is all birds are let free in the aviary which resemble the natural habitat. There are more than 3000 birds from hundreds of species with a variety of shapes, sizes, colours and sounds perching and winging about freely - in a totally natural and beautifully lanscaped environment.
